sera siporax Professional is a highly effective, fully biological filter medium for achieving crystal clear water in aquariums or ponds. Suitable for all internal, external, trickle and pond filters.

The structure of sera siporax Professional is open pored, three dimensional and functional. This structure allows the formation of very effective biofilms that grow into the pores and coat their walls. The pores have the ideal size for ensuring long term water flow and supply of the bacteria. The biofilm also breaks down nitrate (denitrification) deep within the pore structure where oxygen levels are lower.

Not only nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria grow in the biofilm of sera siporax Professional, but also ones that break down organic matter. Dying bacteria therefore do not clog the pores but are broken down biologically. The biofilm grows and shrinks according to water pollution and thus adapts to the requirements. sera siporax Professional is therefore the only filter material that cleans itself biologically. The pore structure is perfect for being settled by bacteria.
